Potato Red Chiefttain
The Red Chieftain Potato is a red skinned white fleshed potato variety that was first bred in 1957. This variety is known for growing better in heavier soils than other red skinned varieties. It produces quite a good yield and is considered an early/mid harvest crop with a maturation time of 80-110 days. The Red Chieftain is quite attractive with violet flowers. It stores well and is excellent for boiling and for French fries.
