Goji Berry Firecracker
Native to Asia, Firecracker Goji berry is grown for its sweet red berries. Firecracker is a dwarf & self fertile variety of goji that produces massive amount of fruit for a shrub of that size. Everbearing Firecracker goji berry can provide up to 3 crops a year. The fleshy berries are ellipsoid or ovoid in shape and are 1-2 cm long. Fruits can be eaten fresh or dry as a snack.
Deep green foliage, with purple flowers blooming in July to September. It grows to 3 ft tall and wide, working well as a specimen or in a container. It has an extensive root system and can be planted to stabilize sandy banks.
Goji berries are traditionally consumed for their flavour and medicinal properties in Chinese, Korean, Tibetan and Japanese culture. They can also be used in tonics, tisanes, wines and beers or paired with meats.
